Cross Posted (& Edited) from Linda’s Yoga Journey

HEALTH:

1. Drink plenty of water.

2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like beggar.

3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is

manufactured in plants.

4. Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy.

5. Make time to meditate.

6. Breathe

7. Read more books than you did in 2010.

8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.

9. Sleep for 7 hours.

10. Take a 10-30 minute walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

PERSONALITY:

11. Comparing our lives to others is fruitless. We have no idea what their journey is about.

12. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones especially about things out of our control. Invest energy in the positive present moment.

13. Try not to over do. Understand limits.

14. Why take ourselves so seriously. No one else does.

15. Gossip drains precious energy.

16. Dream more while we are awake.

17. Envy is a waste of time. We already have all we need.

18. Forget issues of the past. Let go of our partners mistakes of the past. Focus on our present/future happiness.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20. Make peace with our past so it won’t spoil the present.

21. No one is in charge of our happiness except us.

22. Realize that life is a school and we are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons we learn will last a lifetime.

23. Smile and laugh more.

24. We don’t have to win arguments. It’s ok to agree to disagree.

SOCIETY:

25. Call your family often.

26. Each day give something good to others.

27. Forgive everyone for everything.

28. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.

29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

30. What other people think of you is insignificant compared to what you think of yourself.

31. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends & family will. Stay in touch.

LIFE:

32. Do the right thing!

33. Keep only things that are useful, beautiful or joyful.

34. Higher powers heal everything.

35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

36. No matter how we feel, get up, dress up, and show up.

37. The best is yet to come.

38. When we awake alive in the morning, be thankful.

39. Our Inner most is always happy. Release your “Inner Happy” on the world every day!

Laying low but not on the down low.
Keeping thoughts flowing and knowledge growing.
Having a time trying to fellowship with ‘trifling’ people.
So spending time alone and yet keeping His light to right though even though no one is left.
Taking this ship on lifetime cruise and I cannot afford to lose my way.
Though the grave seems like as a good a place to rest but I have work to do.
For a long as there is life there is decay.
Lets lower our heads and pray for the morals that have fallen on a bed of disrespect.
A moment of silence for the expectations that lay on the floor.
I am asked often why I am not in church.
Because my soul does not rest and my nerves vibrate.
The only time they speak to me is to judge about one Sunday but not to say how are you today.
I smile and deflect for the darkest of all space is behind this face.
My words fermenting in the corners of my mind waiting for one more insipid pious word from them and I’ll wipe that look of your face so fast you will need intercessory prayers just to stand up.
They bring ‘others’ to speak and spew and expect me to sit there like a fool.
I wait but the weight is too much and like a leaf in Autumn I fall by the wayside.
Sometimes on stony ground until the winds of change move me or just the stain of who I was remains on the concrete.

I did not know about the break up, sorry.
I know that the ratio of Love to heartache is true.
I remember getting ready to break up because I felt we were no longer on the same page.
We were suppose to write our own story but somehow grew apart.
I held that book close to my heart and it would echo my heartbeat but in reality it was OUR heartbeats.
When I could only hear my own heartbeat I wanted to put the book on the shelf.
Through it all I told her that I Loved her and would forever and a day or maybe just one more day.
But I didn’t say that I liked her or I felt I was treated.
I stayed away from the dreaded “YOU”
You know the ‘you make me feel this way when YOU and YOU always say this to and YOU do that You are a _____
You makes the person defensive and Why can create anxiety.
I feel this way when this happens or if something is done or not done.
The you can be there BUT the ‘I’ means this is about YOU and your feeling/needs are not being met…remember that when a BUT is thrown in there the opposite of was to left is to the right.
Cry and hold yourself tight and whisper softly.
Do not point a finger at anyone for there are three pointing back and one thumb.
A season, a reason but not a lifetime.
It happened for a reason and lasted more than a season.
You now know what you are capable of and what you will not tolerate.
Have you ever read Reading Without Reflecting is like Eating Without Digesting?
Well lets throw in the Living Without Introspection. Now child you have to look within, not always pretty. Look at what you attracted and or deflected. Complimenting is better than complicating.
We sometime attract people who complement our strengths and others that shore our weaknesses.
The resurrection of taught or fraught.
Remember what you taught by this person, let the lesson not be lost.
If not your next relationship will be fraught with similar issues.
Taught also means tight and you most remain loose.
The strongest steel is a cable(d) that gives way without breaking.
Allow yourself to be held by friends/family and her your own words out load BUT stand proud.
Yesterday is downstream and tomorrow is just a vision BUT you are here today.
You survived and will continue because you Loved and are capable of loving…Child that is a beautiful thing.

Life Practical Tips for Productive Living blog archive about rss thought questions makes me think

30 Things to Start Doing for Yourself Remember today, for it is the beginning. Today marks the start of a brave new future. Our previous article, 30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself, was well received by most of our readers, but several of you suggested that we follow it up with a list of things to start doing. In one reader’s words, “I would love to see you revisit each of these 30 principles, but instead of presenting us with a ‘to-don’t’ list, present us with a ‘to-do’ list that we all can start working on today, together.” Some folks, such as readers Danny Head and Satori Agape, actually took it one step further and emailed us their own revised ‘to-do’ versions of the list.So I sat down last night with our original article and the two reader’s revisions as a guide, and a couple of hours later finalized a new list of 30 things; which ended up being, I think, a perfect complement to the original. Here it is, a positive ‘to-do’ list for the upcoming year – 30 things to start doing for yourself: Start spending time with the right people. – These are the people you enjoy, who love and appreciate you, and who encourage you to improve in healthy and exciting ways. They are the ones who make you feel more alive, and not only embrace who you are now, but also embrace and embody who you want to be, unconditionally.

Sipping on Spit and Chewing on cables life turned to strife not close to a Fairy Tale or a Fable.
My Hopes falling through the cracks on the floor that mirror my heart.
I await death but it teases me, you see.
It comes and holds me in it’s cold embrace and then walks away laughing at my disgrace.
But held I was awaiting the disentanglement as my body sputters and my Spirit seeks to be rid of the carnal clutter.
Sitting in the glow of an 11-year-old computer screen swallowing coffee hard to wash down the screams that are the echos to the tears that stream…and caress an old man’s face. Hoping the coffee will speed up my heart so that I know that it is there and not subjugated like a silent tectonic plate with despair.
I have kissed many a tear from a woman’s cheeks but nary a one is here near my seat.
My whole being falling into a hole being that it has collapse and my life is a seen as a retrospective time lapse video.
Holding your face in my arms with you head canted looking radiant and enchanted.
Lips slightly parted as my hands caress your face and I bring my lips to your blossom of a mouth and kiss you gently.
Lightly biting that lower lip and pulling it forward until I hear an inspiration.
Then we begin the dance of silent lengua franca.

Don’t tell me about being a man

Based on your perception of what I should be!

Teach yourself first the qualities required to be a woman

then all you’ll ever need, you’ll find in me!

Realize that you did not teach your dream man to be a man

by saying that, this is what I mean,

The man already possessed those qualities long before he

became your dream!

Therefore you cannot teach me to be what you naturally are not.

But by understanding the nature of yourself

You can receive all that I’ve got.

For it’s my nature to protect and care for who you naturally are

Cause you’re as much a part of me, as is the night sky to a star!

So at best my lady, you can help me to become a man

by becoming the best woman you can be

For only then can I become the best of what is naturally me!

And a youth said, “Speak to us of Friendship.”

Your friend is your needs answered.

He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving.

And he is your board and your fireside.

For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace.

When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the “nay” in your own mind, nor do you withhold the “ay.”

And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart;

For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed.

When you part from your friend, you grieve not;

For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain.

And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.

For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught.

And let your best be for your friend.

If he must know the ebb of your tide, let him know its flood also.

For what is your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill?

Seek him always with hours to live.

For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness.

And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.

For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.
